Generally, yes. Because the CORI system allows for higher precision, we do not need to disturb as much healthy soft tissue or bone to fit the implant. This "tissue-sparing" approach typically results in less post-operative pain and less swelling compared to traditional manual instruments.

Recovery is often faster with robotic precision. Many of our patients are eligible for Day Case discharge, meaning they walk within hours and go home the same day. Do I need a CT scan before the surgery?

No. Unlike other robotic systems that require a CT scan (and the radiation exposure that comes with it), the CORI system uses "Real-Time Mapping." During surgery, your surgeon uses a digital wand to "paint" a 3D model of your knee instantly. This allows for a surgical plan based on exactly how your knee looks and moves in that moment, without the need for pre-operative radiation.

No. The robot does not operate on you. Mr White performs the procedure using the CORI™ Surgical System as a precision tool. It is a handheld robotic device that helps him plan the surgery and cut the bone with sub-millimeter accuracy, but he is in full control of the device at all times.
